Recommended UnderBed System for a 5th Wheel Hitch on a 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 Short Bed
Question:
Looking at a 18 Silverado 3500 and it does not have the factory hitch system for 5th wheel in the bed. Is there an aftermarket puck system for this truck? Or should I just go with the BandW turn over ball and use the companion? Thanks

I would be happy to help you set your truck up with an underbed system but you are going to need to go with B&W's Turn-over-ball. There are no aftermarket puck systems for your 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500.
To add the Turn-over-ball system to your Silverado you will need the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches item # BWGNRK1016-5W. This kit installs using existing holes in your Silverado's frame and allows you to have complete access to your truck bed when you're not towing.
To tow a 5th wheel with your short bed Chevy, I recommend the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3400-5W you were looking at. This hitch has a 20,000 lbs capacity and the slider will give you 12" of travel front to back. This will help you back into tight spaces without hitting your cab.
I really like the Companion hitches because they have a 1" thick dual jaw that limits movement between your hitch and king pin. This provides less rattle and more security than slide-bar jaws plus it provides a quieter towing experience.
To make towing with a 5th wheel easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56000 to your Silverado. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
I have linked some installation videos below that will show in detail all three of these products.
