Does Hitch Installation on 2021 Honda CR-V Touring Hybrid Require Disabling Hands-Free Liftgate
Question:
Do you need to disable the foot switch underneath the car in order to install a trailer hitch on a 2021 Honda CR-V Touring hybrid? It seems that the hitch location would create an issue with the foot switch.

Installation of a hitch like the # e98848 does not require you to disable the hands-free liftgate sensor. Worst case scenario you will lose the functionality from it being blocked or partially blocked, but disabling it is not necessary. More than likely you will still be able to use it by kicking your foot to the side of the receiver. If it no longer functions and you wish to retain this feature, you can use a sensor relocation kit which you would have to acquire from your local Honda dealer.
