Solution for Replacement Hubs on Boat Trailer With L44649/LM11749 Bearings
Question:
Hello. I have an old, small boat trailer. The wheel hub is four lug and stamped ODD-1106 there may be another letter before ODD. Bearings are Timken L44649 and Timken LM11749. The seal is Timken 7994s. The hub dust cap diameter appears to be just barely over 1.5. Any chance you have a replacement hub, or can suggest an alternate? Thanks so much!

I have a solution for you, but we do not have any hubs that use inner bearing # L44649 and outer bearing LM11749. This is an old bearing combination no longer used so replacement hubs aren't around anymore. It is for that reason that the best option is to replace your axle with one that uses a standard bearing combination.
Based on the bearings, what you have is likely a 2,000 lb axle. I recommend checking the axle tag to verify this information. In addition to the capacity, you will also need the length of the axle. This is the hub face to hub face measurement. You can also get the spring center to spring center measurement, although the spring seats can be moved if needed.
For example the Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs # e25GR has a hub face to hub face measurement of 60" and a spring center to spring center measurement of 48". This axle uses the # L44649 inner and outer bearings and includes hubs with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern.
If you find your measurements are the same you could use this as a replacement. If you find that they are different let me know and I will see what is available.
