Which padlock can be used on trailer door in the winter without freezing?
Question:
Hello, do you think these locks will freeze in the winter time, or are the lock holes/mechanism sealed good from the elements? Looking for a padlock replacement. Thanks!

While the Global Link Vise Lock for Cam-Action Door Latch # 295-000024 is a great solution to locking your trailer door latch, the key hole is exposed to the elements like most locks so it wouldn't be ideal for the winter months. You could remedy this by using lock de-icer.
I think a better option is to use a weather-resistant padlock such as Master Lock Laminated Steel Padlock - 1-15/16" Wide - 9/32" Diameter Shackle # ML312D. It has a thermoplastic sleeve and lock cover to keep the elements out of the lock, allowing for quick and easy access year-round.
