Recommended Performance Tuner for a 2017 GMC Sierra 6.2L After ECM Replacement
Question:
Had a short in ECM on 2017 GMC Sierra 6.2L and had to have new one installed. Now my tuner will not communicate with vehicle. Is this because the tuner was married to the original ECM and now does not recognize the new ECM, or see it as a “new” vehicle? Is there a way to reprogram the tuner to recognize the new ECM?

Expert Reply:
Since you had your ECM replaced your current tuner thinks you have a new vehicle. You can try to contact Superchips and maybe they can reprogram it. They design the Tuners to only work on one vehicle so you will most likely have to replace it. You will want the Superchips Flashpaq F5 Performance Tuner - GM - Gas item # SU2847.
