Troubleshooting A Lippert Smart Jack Electric Trailer Jack That Only Extends
Question:
I have a jack that was faulty so I found a new set of take-offs. They have the same 2 wires. I have tried both jacks before I mounted them and they work fine. When I mount them the jack only extends and will not retract. Trying to figure out wire issue

If the Lippert Smart Jack Electric Trailer Jack # LC643589 was working before mounting and will only extend after being mounted then it leads me to believe that the ground connection isn't good. I recommend disconnecting your ground wire from wherever you currently have it and crimp on a new ring terminal and use a self-tapping screw to mount it directly to the frame of the trailer.
