Can I Upgrade From 175/80-13 Tire to 185/80-13 Tire

Question:

I have a shorelander boat trailer with tandem axles. Currently it has 175/80R13 tires. Would 185/80 R13 tires fit?

You should be just fine using a 185/80-13 size tire in place of your 175/80-13 size tire but you'll want to check a few distances first just to make sure you have enough room. You need at least 4" of clearance space to your fender and then at least 2" of space to your trailer frame for adequate clearance and the larger tire size will only increase by 0.63" for the diameter and 0.39" for width so unless you're already pushing the clearance you'll be just fine.

If you haven't already chosen a replacement trailer tire I recommend picking up the Kenda Karrier ST185/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10208 because it's a reliable choice with a load range of D (1,710 lbs at 65 psi) and a max speed rating of 81 mph.

Attached is a review video for you to check out.
