Roadmaster Shocks or SumoSprings? Which is Better for a Forest River Sandpiper 5th Wheel Trailer?
Question:
I have a Sandpiper 5th whee with 6,000lb axles. In your option what would be better? Roadmaster shocks or Sumosprings?

Expert Reply:
For your Forest River Sandpiper 5th wheel with 6,000 lbs axles, I recommend the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Tandem Axle Trailers item # RM-2460. This system fits tandem axle trailers with 3" diameter 5,200 lbs -7,500 lbs axles. It will work for both overslung and underslung axles
The SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket item # SS33HR are designed for axle capacities from 5-8K on axles that have the leaf springs mounted under the axle tube. They require one kit per axle. You will get a better ride quality out of the Roadmaster Shock Absorbers. The Nitrogen-charged shock absorbers help to eliminate trailer bouncing, chucking, and porpoising. The kit includes everything you would need to mount them on a tandem axle trailer like your Sandpiper.
