The crossbar for your older Sterling Tow Bar can be removed to utilize the Direct-Connect attachment points and connect to the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-5, which will fit your 2012 Jeep Wrangler. Just pull the pin and clip on each leg and release the crossbar from the tow bar.

Note: This baseplate was designed to fit a factory bumper, if you have something else let me know.

If you haven't already purchased all the other components to flat tow your Jeep then I have the following recommendations:

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-98146-7.

Since your Jeep has combined wiring you will need to install the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 to prevent the brake signal from overriding the turn signal. Your brake light switch wire is white/brown.

Braking System: Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700. This braking system is a permanent install that will be ready to go any time you tow your Jeep. It provides a trickle charge to the vehicle battery if the running lights are turned on in the motorhome so that your battery doesn't drain.

Note: If you have a Diesel Pusher motorhome with a J-Brake you will need to use a different system like the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524.

The Brake Buddy # HM39524 comes with a remote that lets you see when the brakes are being applied and lets you adjust the brake settings. It also comes with a charge line kit to keep your battery charged while towing.

Safety Cables: RoadMaster 76" Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables # RM-645-76. If the cables that came with your Sterling Tow Bar have seen better days then I recommend swapping to these. They'll slide right through the channels on the tow bar to prevent them from dragging on the ground.
