Powering Horse Trailer Lights w/ and w/out a Battery

Question:

Hello I have a horse trailer that has interior and exterior LED lights which only work when hooked up to truck. I know I can add a battery and wiring, but was thinking of a different solution. Is there an adapter that the trailer 7way blade could plug in to that adapts to a 12 volt plug which could them be plugged into a portable power station jackery, etc? Since I already have the power station figured this would be an easy solution without having to purchase, install and maintain an auxiliary battery. Ive seen and have an adapter that connects to truck and provides 12 volt socket, but need opposite- 7 blade female outlet that adapts to 12volt male plug which could be plugged into power station. This would also work for people who have utility trailers etc and dont want to install auxiliary battery. Could even have switch/option to power running lights as well.

I have a solution for you but the only way to power accessory lighting in your trailer through a 12v is to use an adapter like the Pollak 7-Way to 12 Volt Power Outlet Adapter item # PK11896. It sounds like you already have one of these. This will turn your 7-way connector into a 12v power source. Once you have a 12v connector on your 7-way you will want to purchase an adapter that has two male 12v ends. There isn't a 7-way trailer connector to a 12v male connector adapter. The reason there is no adapter is because having a auxiliary battery set up on your trailer is a much easier option. Using your 7-way connector like this will either require you to leave your vehicle running the entire time or eventually you will drain your battery. If you are using a newer vehicle to tow your horse trailer this may not even work because the functions on the 7-way may not activate if you are parked.

All you would need to add a battery to your horse trailer is a battery box item # DW03188, which is 10-1/2 inches x 7-3/8 inches x 9-1/4 inches, Deka Jacketed 2 Wire item # 10-2-1, and a Battery like item # Item # BRW34FR.
