How to Determine Departure Angle For 2008 Hyundai Sonata Trailer Hitch Receiver
Question:
Our garage has a relatively steep incline while pulling in. I’d love to get one of these hitches but am concerned about the clearance while pulling in. What is the minimum distance needed between the ground and the bottom of the hitch at a 45 degree angle? Thank you.

In order to determine the departure angle with the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24757 installed on your 2008 Hyundai Sonata more information would be required. Although we know the distance from the top of the inside of the receiver to the ground, which is 10-1/2", the distance from the "impact point" to where the tire contacts the ground is unknown.
If you're truly going into a 45 degree angle then this would require a distance of approximately 11.3" from the point where the tire contacts the ground to the bottom of the hitch. Looking at the hitch installed on the vehicle, it is definitely more which means you wouldn't clear. I recommend checking that angle to be sure it is correct. I don't have the height of your bumper but more then likely at a true 45 degrees your bumper would also be hitting the ground.
