Bike Rack Recommendation to Use On RV and 2013 Honda CR-V for 2 E-Bikes

Question:

We are looking for a sturdy bike rack that would work on our 2013 Honda CRV as well as on the back of our RV. Does RockyMounts offer a rack that will accommodate 2 bikes, class 3, 2 inch receiver? We are looking at purchasing a couple of e bikes preferable with fenders to be used on car and RV. Thanks

While we have the perfect option for you, RockyMounts does not carry a bike rack that is both approved for RV use and mounts via your bikes' frames. The frame-mount is important because mounting your bikes by a wheel-mount style can potentially damage or crack your fenders.

With that being said, for a super sturdy rack that has a high weight capacity for e-bikes, I recommend the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR. Not only is the E-Spec constructed for brute strength in order to withstand the extra torque/force exerted on the rack on the back of an RV, it also comes with an impressive 70-pound per bike weight capacity. It also has the benefit of locks that protect both your bikes and the rack itself. Since the E-Spec # S94FR attaches via your bikes' frames, you do not need to worry about the unnecessary risk of damage to your bikes' fenders. The E-Spec is also approved to use on your 2013 Honda CR-V and on the back of your CR-V if you plan to flat-tow it with your RV.

As far as bike compatibility, the E-Spec accommodates bikes up to a 48" wheelbase. It also fits tires with diameters between 20-29" around. If you happen to have fat tires that measure between 3-5" wide, you need the fat tire adapters # S64679. Also, if your e-bikes have women's-style frames or step-thru frames, you need a bike frame adapter bar # 64005. The adapter provides your bikes with a straight, horizontal plane that is required to attach to the ratcheting hooks of the E-Spec.

I went ahead and attached some helpful demo videos for you to check out.
