Complete Flat Towing Setup For A 2018 Ford Expedition Limited

Question:

Hello, Thank you, you have been very helpful. My husband wants to know if we had no parts at all and wanted to tow our 2018 Expedition behind our 2003 HR Endeavor, what would you recommend we purchase for that purpose. Thank you!

Sure thing!

To complete your flat tow setup for your 2018 Ford Expedition, you will also need:

1. A base plate kit, like the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524457-5. You'll need a base plate kit to connect your tow bars to your toad vehicle.

2.The next thing you're going to need is a braking system, like the Roadmaster BrakeMaster System w BrakeAway for RVs w Air or Air Over Hydraulic Brakes # RM-9160, with the RoadMaster BrakeMaster Custom Seat Adapter # RM-88318.

A braking system is required by law, and is used to slow/stop your toad vehicle while traveling.

3. Finally, you're going to need a wiring kit like the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 as well as the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25.

My husband informed me that we also have a BreakMaster 9000 photos attached. Would that work for us too? If it would, that would mean that all we need is the following: 1. Diode Wiring Kit 2. Battery Charge line 3. Brakemaster Custom Seat Adapter 4. Direct Connect Base Plate Kit Thank you for all your help!

That is correct! All you need is the: - Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-98146-7, - Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25, - RoadMaster BrakeMaster Custom Seat Adapter # RM-88318, & - etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e86YR with the adapters # e98983. The last thing you may need is a set of safety cables as well # RM-653 and you're good to go!

Sure thing! For a baseplate kit, I recommend going with the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e86YR, with the adapters # e98983. These base plates will work great with your current tow bar, and offer an easy installation with no welding required, and includes all the needed hardware. Since you already have the EvenBrake braking system, you're just going to need the RoadMaster BrakeMaster Custom Seat Adapter # RM-88318 & the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25. Finally, you're just going to need the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-1676-7 & the Roadmaster 80" Coiled Safety Cables # RM-653. With all this, your current tow bar and braking system, you'll be all set to tow your 2018 Ford Expedition behind your 2003 HR Endeavor.
