MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent Will Not Operate On AC Power Pedestal

Question:

max fan 4500k installed by rv dealer. royal expedition motor home 24 ft. 1998 ford.....Max fan works great on 12 volt Battery but plug in to ac power, doesnt work. All lights work ,bathroom fan, stove fan, fridge, microwave on both ac and dc power . we had the airconder unit remover and replaced with a Max fan. Didhe wire it wrong or ? thank you for your time

Yes, it appears your MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote, # MA00-04500K has been installed incorrectly. This will only operate from a 12VDC power supply, connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. If your fan will work when you are not connected to a AC power pedestal but will work as intended when disconnected from the power pedestal and only have battery power available, then you have something in your system isolating your battery. This needs to be compensated for and addressed for your fan to operate.
