How to Carry Bikes Between Motorhome and Towed Vehicle
Question:
My husband and I have a Discovery 39S. We had a bicycle rack that attached to the ladder of our gas coach but the rack proves to be too high if we attach it to the half ladder on the Discovery. We are trying to decide on using a rack that goes between the coach and the car dolly or one that goes on the trunk of the toad. Has anyone had issues with the bikes getting too hot when they are positioned there? Is the rack strong enough to be between the coach and toad? Is it better to get a rack that attaches on to the the trunk of the toad? Thanks for any input

Carrying bikes while using a tow dolly can be a bit tricky since the rear of your towed vehicle will be angled down so instead I recommend using the Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-304 in the rise position and then using the lowest receiver for your tow dolly and the highest receiver for a bike rack like the Thule Range # TH9057 to carry your bikes between the motorhome and tow dolly.
