Will 5th Wheel Hitch or Pin Box Need to Adjust When Using Curt Rail Adapter for New GM Truck
Question:
Looking at buying a 2022 chev 3500 HD and currently have a reese 15K 5th wheel slider hitch. I think the C88KR rail kit is what I need for the factory prep bed but how common is it that I would need to change the pin height on the trailer. I have a 2021 Jayco eagle 321 RSTS 5th wheel. Did not see anything in the reviews about people having to change out the pin height. Thanks

The Curt Adapter Rails # C88KR will add 2-1/2" of height to your Reese 15K slider. I'm not sure what the bed height is on your 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500 (since there are a lot of variations) but if you measure from the ground to the bed where your 5th wheel currently sits and compare that to the bed of the new truck you'll be able to tell if any adjustments will need to be made.
Keep in mind that the head of your 5th wheel hitch should have some height adjustments you can make plus you're currently using bed rails that would make your 5th wheel hitch sit above your truck bed some as well so if the bed heights are about the same between the trucks you may not have to make any adjustments.
Attached is a helpful article that goes over these measurements as well if you'd like to check that out.
