Can the Stromberg-Carlson RV Exterior Ladder Be Modified to Fit a 1993 Toyota/Winnebago Motorhome
Question:
Can the LA-401 be cut to fit above the hinges as well as below the hinges to custom fit my motorhome?

Expert Reply:
The Stromberg-Carlson RV Exterior Ladder # LA-401 actually comes with the hinges separate so you can completely customize the ladder length to fit your motorhome.
The tools that you will need are a #2 Phillips screwdriver, hack saw or Tube cutter, and a drill motor with 3/16 and 1/4 inch drill bits.
When determining the total overall length take into account that the bottom step of the ladder should be between 6 and 12 inches above the bumper. After you have that measurement, then you will cut off the bottom of the ladder.
When you have the proper length of the ladder you will then decide where the hinges need to be placed and cut the ladder at that point to install the hinges.
The final steps are to secure the ladder to your motorhome. Please be advised that all screws connecting the ladder to the RV must be fastened to the RVs blocking or sub frame. If you are uncertain about the blockings or sub frame location please contact your trailer manufacturer.
