Can Older Kuat Transfer 3 Bike Rack Hold 46 lb and 48 lb e-Bikes

Question:

Hello, I have an older Kuat Transfer 3 rack that I want to see about the weight capacity. We have a new Specialized Como 4.0 Ebike that weighs about 48 lbs and an REI ebike that is around 45-46 lbs.. Will that rack support the Como 4.0 as well as the one that is 46 lbs? Thanks

It looks like the older version of the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # KU24FR, which would have been part TS03G, has a 40 lb per-bike weight capacity. If you can remove the battery from each of your e-Bikes that should put them under (or right at) this 40 lb rating.

Aside from that, that only other thing that could be an issue is if your bikes have front fenders. From what I was seeing online it looks like this is the case so you may end up needing a different rack anyways since you don't want to be clamping down on those fenders.

With this being the case a better option for your bikes would be the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR or the Destination E Bike Rack # HLY66ZR, both of which are frame mount options.

Attached are some videos for you to check out.
