What is the Shank Part on a Hitch Receiver Cover
Question:
You were almost correct in your assumption. Im looking for the 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch brake light, NOT the 2 inch.

The shank would be the piece that you insert into the hitch receiver. So for a hitch cover like the Star Wars Darth Vader Trailer Hitch Cover # PC002282R01, there are 2 different shank options you can place the Darth Vader cover piece on so it will fit whether your vehicle has a 1-1/4" or a 2" square receiver.
It looks like you were looking for a light up hitch cover so I recommend checking out the Pilot # CR-007 which is a simple square design that fits a 2" receiver and plugs into a standard 4-Way wiring connection on your vehicle. I'm also linking our selection of lighted hitch covers for you to filter through.
