Parts Needed to Add Brake Controller to 2022 Ford Edge ST
Question:
I have a 2022 Ford Edge ST. I have a tent trailer with electric brakes on it and I am not sure what brake control unit to install. Ideally I would also rather have a way to just plug in to the car instead of splicing wires for it. The car is 2 weeks old. Thanks very much for you insights.

While I can understand not wanting to splice any wiring, you'll have to do so to add a brake controller to your 2022 Ford Edge ST, as there isn't a plug-and-play brake controller option. So what you'll need are the following for the wiring:
- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118805
- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7
You will first install the 4-flat, which will activate your trailer's lighting functions, and you'll then plug that into the 7-way that comes with the # ETBC7, which also gives you the wiring, circuit breakers, and rest of the hardware needed for installation.
For the brake controller, the only option is a splice-in harness, as I mentioned, with the best of those being the Curt Assure Trailer Brake Controller # C49UR and Curt Harness # C51515.
