Troubleshooting Hopkins Agility Brake Controller that Displays 99 on Screen

Question:

Hello I own a 2006 Silverado 3500 Duramax truck. I have the HM47295 controller on it .The unit has worked flawlessly for years. I love it.! However the last time i used the controller ,the display showed 99. None of the buttons would function. i did disconnect from harness, when i reattached it still had the number 99 on display. The installed angle hasnt changed. Now this is with truck only ,nothing plugged into receiver. Any suggestions would be helpful. Best Regards

Hopkins brake controllers like the Agility part # HM47295 that you have are known to have internal shorts that require replacing the controller as there isn't a fix for it. The best solution we have would be a new controller that is similar that is more reliable like the Brake EVN # TK63VR. This would work just as good, if not better, than the Agility and will last much longer as well.
