Regular Generator vs Inverter Generator For Powering AC, Fridge, and TV in Trailer
Question:
Im needing a generator setup for my 5th wheel for when electrical power isnt available. Im wanting to power a refrigerator, the AC unit and a TV. The inverter generators look more expensive, can I simply get by with a regular generator? Whats the difference between the two? Thanks

For electronics like a TV, you definitely want an inverter generator. The reason for that is, inverter generator has - true to its name - an inverter block built in. What this does is regulator the amount of current that goes to your appliances.
For an inverter generator able to power your AC, a fridge, and TV, I highly recommend a 4,500 starting watt/3,500 running watt option from Champion:
- Champion 4,500-Watt Dual Fuel Portable Inverter Generator - Gas or Propane # CH44FR
A standard generator will have power spikes that can fry - for lack of a better word - your electronics like a TV. So while inverter generators are a higher cost, they will keep your electronics safe so you can use them without worrying about damage.
