Parts Needed To Install A Redarc Brake Controller On A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Question:
Im looking to put a brake controller in my 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500. I bought the truck used and do not have the wiring harness that shouldve come with it. Do I need more than these two parts, or will this cover both the controller and wiring needs? part 1: Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 2 Braking Modes - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers Part two:Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness

Since you're wanting to use the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR with your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, you're also going to need a 7-way if one is not present.
To easily do this, I recommend taking a look at the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This wiring harness will utilize the existing 4-pole trailer wiring at the rear of your truck, and allow you to easily add the needed 7-way connector.
From here, you will just need to splice the wires coming off of the brake controller to your truck, and you'll be all set!
The second item you referenced, the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness # 331-TPH-017, is only necessary if you're wanting to use a Redarc brake controller with pre-existing Tekonsha brake controller wiring; since this isn't the case, you do not need this.
