Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector Beeps Even After Reset
Question:
Hi My 12v Atwood 36681 was instalked 3 years ago and has only beeped once a year I ptesume an alarm check.. I press tge reset..all ok Now it has been beeping non stop 1 second interval, double beep. I reset the button, it goes for a few hours then starts again. My gas bottle is in a sealed box and my stove is the only gas appliance. The alarm is wired in the base of the stove cupboard to pick up any leaks from the stove connection. If there was a leak, how long should it take for the alarm to start beeping again after I have reset it. Its about 70cms from the oven/stove. Thanks

If the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector part # AT36681 continues to beep even after a rest then this can be narrowed down to either a leak or faulty detector. If you shut off the gas supply to the trailer entirely and the alarm still continues to sound then chances are the unit will need to just be replaced. They are electrical devices and although not common, can fail prematurely. If you question the detector another good method to check is a special spray, the Valterra Detect-A-Leak Gas Leak Detector Fluid part # V02126 which will be applied to the suspected pipes and fittings.
