When adding an extension to your receiver, the towing capacity of your hitch is reduced by 50 per cent. If you have a class lll hitch installed on your vehicle, the tongue capacity is 350 lbs. Adding an extension would reduce that number to 175 lbs. Based on the weight of your power chair, your hitch would not be able to handle the weight. I researched your 2006 Suzuki XL-7, and found that the tongue weight capacity is 300 lbs. This would be the weight of the cargo carrier and the cargo combined. Unfortunately, with the weight of your power chair at 250 lbs, we do not offer a carrier that would keep the weight under the capacity.
As another option, we do offer a trailer designed for wheelchairs or scooters. The two trailers we offer are part # UWT1, and part # UWT1HD-AM31985
