Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack that Extends Out 13 Inches to Clear Large Spare on 2005 Jeep Liberty
Question:
Are there any swing/ tilt hitch bike racks with 13+ clearance between center hitch pin hole and the inner edge of the upright arm? I have an oversized tire on my 2005 Jeep liberty and I need at least 13inch clearance 14 or 15 would be more comfortable. Do you have any hitch racks that meet this spec? Thanks!

We have several trailer hitch mount bike racks that extend out at least 13 inches or more from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier. The hanging style Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR, for example measures 13-1/2 inches when fin use and due to the way that it folds, it is the same when folded. This rack can tilt down as well. It will only fit a 2 inch hitch or a 1-1/4 inch rack.
I have included a link to an FAQ article that should also help you.
For any of the hanging style racks if you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # TH982XT. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wifes bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
