Is 1/8 inch Play Too Much for Roadmaster D-Ring Adapter

Question:

The customer has a 2020 Jeep Gladiator with an after-market Matrix Fab For Bumper. It has the D-ring connecting points and I plan to use Roadmaster 035. The first question is this - the pin as it slides through the 3/4 inch thick D-ring has a little less then 1/8inch of play - its not a snug fit. Will that be acceptable? Next question - It doesnt have any place to connect safety chains - any suggestions?

The Roadmaster D-Ring adapter part # RM-035 does fit 3/4 inch holes and 7/8 inch holes like it sounds like you have. The trick is to use the sleeve adapter that comes with it to take up the extra play. You would not want to have 1/8 of an inch of play as that would eventually wear out the D-rings and wallow out the hole.

You'd run the safety chains to the vehicle frame if you can.
