Does 2015 Honda Accord Frame Need to be Filed Open to Install Curt Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hi, I have a 2015 Honda Accord. I have a question regarding installation. Do I still need to enlarge the car chassis hole to fit the metal flat bar? Please see your installation video 2:20 for reference. This issue is holding me back to purchase the hitch. I wonder if the manufacturer narrows down the flat bar so it will fit easily without any damage to the car chassis. Thank you.

You will need to open up the frame of your 2015 Honda Accord some to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11681 like what you noted in the attached installation video. This isn't uncommon for a lot of trailer hitches and Curt can't really afford to use a smaller block because it needs to be strong enough and long/wide enough to catch inside the frame.
The amount of modification is pretty minimal here especially when compared to other hitches that might require actual drilling so I can reaffirm that this is totally acceptable and is the best way to install this hitch.
If you let me know what you plan on using the hitch for I'd be more than happy to make some other recommendations for you.
