Replacement Axle, Tires, and Wheels for Small Vintage Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a vintage small boat trailer that needs a new axle, wheels and tires that are able to go at highway speeds. Trailer and boat are only about 500-700 lbs total. The width of the trailer widest point is the leaf springs is 42.5. Can you suggest an axle, wheel and tire package for me? Thanks

For a standard axle the closest we have is the CE Smith Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs # CE33201GA-HUB but the spring centers measure 46-1/2" so you will need to have a professional drill new holes for the springs to mount to and match your 42-1/2" measurement.
As an alternative you can use the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System with Hubs # A20RS545 which mount directly to your trailer frame and gives you better suspension performance compared to a standard trailer axle.
Then when it comes to a tire/wheel combo you can use the Loadstar ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire # AM31952 which comes with a galvanized wheel (that holds up better to water when compared to standard wheels) and has an 81 mph speed rating.
