What Voltage is Needed for the Electric Reverse Lockout Solenoid on a Dexter Actuator

Question:

Is there a minimum voltage for the solenoid to work? I only get about 9 volts at the backup light circuit before it hits the backup light. Also that inch or less of movement at the coupler sure seems to bang alot, could that shock absorber be bad or is something else not right. Is there a part # for that

The reverse lockout solenoid on the Titan actuator # 099-175-20 is rated for 12 volts. Nine volts might do the trick but 12 volts is ideal. If you cannot get 12 volts at the reverse lights or 7-Way trailer connector then you may be able to use a fuse tap at the reverse light circuit fuse under the hood.

There will be some slight movement but if the unit is banging around a lot then it could indicate worn parts.
