In order to determine if your vehicles can be flat towed and if there are any special requirements (such as a specific transmission or engine) you will want to consult your vehicle owner's manuals.

To flat tow either vehicle you will need 5 main components: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and a supplemental braking system.

Base plates for the Cadillac SRX: # 3125-3.
Base plates for the Ford Edge: # 4408-1.

Compatible tow bar for either vehicle: Falcon # RM-520.

Safety cables for either vehicle: # RM-643.

Here is a couple of different lighting options for either vehicle:
Magnetic kit # RM-2120 for a no install solution that is set up whenever you want to flat tow. This can also easily be transferred between 2 different vehicles.
Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152 takes longer to install but is my preferred method for flat tow wiring. It stays installed on the vehicle using the existing lights and simply plugs in when you are ready to go. If you are going to flat tow both vehicles you would a need a set of these for each.

For supplemental braking system options you can use the Blue Ox Patriot Portable proportional Braking System # BLU37TR. This can be transferred between both vehicles as well. Demco's Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 is my preferred system that is permanently installed into one vehicle. Once installed you will not have to worry about it again and set is as simple as hooking your flat tow like normal then turning the controller on . The only issue is that it fits in just one vehicle at a time and is not easily moved without a reinstallation kit.

I have included some helpful links to are series of FAQ articles on flat towing for you.
