Fat E-Bike Rack Recommendation for Rear of Fifth Wheel
Question:
Im looking for options to carry two heavy e-bikes 65# each without the batteries with 4inch tires. Needs to work with the 2inch hitch on my fifth wheel. The bikes are the Magicycle one step-through and one cruiser. Right now it appears that the Swagman E-Spec is one option, but the optional but required 4inch tire cradles would add an additional $140+ to the cost. Additionally, its now showing that it wont be available until the end of May. Earlier this year, it said the end of March. Appears to be moving farther out all the time. The other is the Hollywood Racks RV Rider HLY64FR, but I know nothing about the brand and the cost is extremely high at $600. Also, are these immediately available so that it would arrive in Texas within the next two weeks? With the cradles on the Swagman, the cost of the two are a wash. Is one more recommended than the other? Are there any other rack options out there that would meet my needs?

Your best option is the Hollywood Racks RV Rider part # HLY64FR. It is rated for fifth wheel use, has an 80 lb per bike weight capacity, and can fit tire widths up to 5 inches. I know you mentioned not being familiar with this brand but we have been extremely impressed with the build quality of the Hollywood Racks. They may not be the prettiest or flashiest racks but their build quality is top notch. We typically find they have the tightest clearances too and provide the least amount of movement in the hitch when on the road. I would highly recommend them to anyone including you.
