Installation Instructions for Prodigy P2 Brake Controller in 2004 GMC Envoy with Factory Tow Package
Question:
Why does your installation instructions suggest a fuse is needed if no adaptor is available? See items copied from website above: Note: If a custom brake-control wiring adapter is not available for your GMC Envoy, one of the following will be required: 20-Amp circuit breaker 9506P - sold separately for 2- to 4-brake applications 30-Amp circuit breaker 38630 - sold separately for 6- to 8-brake applications

The 2004 GMC Envoy with factory tow package should have in place already the necessary wiring for hard-wired installation of a brake controller such as your Prodigy P2. Installation details for this controller will vary from vehicle to vehicle. The circuit breakers referred to are not required for your vehicle since the tow package wiring is in place.
In your case your vehicle does not have a port under the dash to allow use of a plug-and-play brake controller adapter harness, but the wiring will be there. If you refer to the linked video you can view a brake controller installation in a 2004 GMC Envoy. This shows where to find the under-dash wiring and gives complete wire-to-wire connections:
Vehicle Black wire connects to White wire on Prodigy
Vehicle Dark Blue wire connects to Dark Blue wire on Prodigy
Vehicle Orange wire connects to the Black wire on the Prodigy
Vehicle Light Blue (small gauge) wire connects to the Red wire on the Prodigy
I have also linked the manufacturer instructions for the P2 for your reference.
