Replacement Rear Latch Assembly For Passenger Side On An Extang Express Tonneau Cover
Question:
installed the new latch and upon trying to close the cover the plastic tab that the cover latches under snapped off first time. Have you seen this happen before? Put latch in with the single screw.

It sounds like your cover might've been too tight, and the tension caused the plastic tab to snap.
For your Extang Express tonneau cover, you'll need the Replacement Rear Latch Assembly for Extang Express Soft Tonneau Cover # EX1073.
When you go to reinstall this part make your tension adjustment via the adjustment nut shown in the image below.
