Recommended Trailer Jack For My 4,800 Pound Trailer
Question:
I bought a 2019 used single axle travel trailer that has a GVW of 4,800 lbs. The dealer installed a recommended weight distribution hitch for my 2016 Chevy Silverado. The electric jack had intermittent problems, could be a bad switch or just worn out. But it would quit and seemed to drain my truck and camper battery. I am considering replacing this with a manual sidewinder jack. Would I be making a mistake going from the electric to a manual jack?

When replacing your electric jack back to a manual jack The Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-5000 will work for you. There are different benefits between both the manual jack and electric jack, but either one will work for you. The electric jacks will be faster, but when you're in a crunch with no sort of power the manual jack will always work.
The Stromberg Carlson jack has an easy, bolt-on installation for A-frame trailers. The sidewind handle has a smooth, ergonomic design for easy cranking. Since the jack is typically used to aid with installation of the weight distribution spring bars, it will be a little harder time now because you will have to crank by hand and not with a button
