Bearing Kit for a BT8 Spindle
Question:
I am thinking about replacing or at least having new bearings, races and seal Kit for my pontoon trailer. The bearing I removed is L44643 - your site lists Bearing Kit for 1 BT8 Spindle, L44643 Inner/Outer Bearings, 34823 Seal Item # BK1-100 which I think will work - it also lists a possible replacement L44649 for a 3500lb axel- I want to upgrade if possible - I think I have a BTR spindle. I can send photos if you need them.

A BT8 spindle would have a diameter of .99 of an inch where the bearings would both install and would have a diameter of 1.24 where the grease seal would ride. A BTR spindle would have dimensions of 1.06 inch for outer and inner bearing plus 1.50 inch where the grease seal would install. You can confirm your spindle size by using a digital caliper like item # PTW80157.
If you pulled off a bearing or bearings that are stamped L44643 then you will need the Bearing Kit for 1" BT8 Spindle, L44643 Inner/Outer Bearings, 34823 Seal item # BK1-100.
You will want to use the LubriMatic LMX Industrial Strength Grease - 14 oz. Cartridge item # L11390 to repack your bearings. I recommend one per axle.
