Troubleshooting Brake Lights Not Working On Your 2014 Nissan Frontier

To begin trouble shooting your trailer wiring, you will first want to determine if the issue is originating on your 2014 Nissan Frontier.I recommend using The Hook Probe Circuit Tester # PTW2993. Using this will allow you to test the pins on the 7-Way at the back of your Frontier to see if the connector is functioning properly.

If the pins on the 7-Way connecter don't show signal for the brake lights, then the issue is originating on your truck. A blown fuse could be causing the problem or it could also be a weak ground at the light. The brake light requires a constant power draw where the running lights and the turn signals use an intermittent draw. If possible, try relocating the light ground to a spot on the trailer frame with bare metal. If you trucks tests fine and it is your trailer that is in question, let me know and we can go into trouble shooting that side.
