What Typically Causes Trailer Disconnect Error Code on Brake Controller or Vehicle Dash

Question:

I have a 2005 f350 super duty and my wiring for my trailer brake controller has been making my trailer brake disconnect while I’m using it. Someone who owned the truck before me has spliced into the harness in the bumper and ran wires up to a plug they added into the bed for the gooseneck. The connections they made aren’t very good and I think that is why my trailer brake controller is disconnecting. Do y’all sell a wire harness or something to fix this kind of problem.

It's possible that the second 7-way is causing your issue but normally when this issue arises it's corrosion or dirt on the pins of the connector that just needs to be cleaned off with sandpaper.

We do have kits that are designed to add a second 7-way up in the bed of the truck like with the # C56070 that fits your truck.
