Replacement Wheels for ST205/75R15 Tires on 1979 Boat Trailer
Question:
Have a 79 tandem boat trailer which carriers a 22 Cabin Cruiser. Was given four brand new ST205/75R15 6 Ply tires and want to upgrade wheel. Currently old style rim 15 by 5 - 5 on 4 1/2. Diameter of pilot hole is about 2 5/8 Will you Dexstar Steel Spoke 15 x 5 White Powder with pilot diameter of 3.19 fit secure? Lug head are flanged and screw in from the rim side.

Based on the information you have given me you have a hub piloted setup. This means you will need to match the pilot diameter exactly and the # AM20428 will not work as a replacement. We do have one possible replacement, but it will require you an accurate measurement instead of approximate.
The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel with Offset - 15" x 6" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - Black # AM20504 has a 2.62" pilot diameter. Since you said 2-5/8" it is likely this will fit but you still want to make sure it isn't larger or smaller. I recommend using a digital caliper like the # PTW80157 to measure. It is also worth noting that this wheel has a +0.5" offset so the mounting surface of the wheel sits outside of the rim centerline. This is the size and bolt pattern you are looking for and fits 1/2"-20 wheel bolts.
