Mounting Options For A CUB Blind Spot Monitoring System On A 2012 Toyota RAV4
Question:
Hi, I would like to know is there an option to attach the radar detectors onto the metal frame? The instruction show the attachment is by the 3M tape to the back side of the plastic bumper. Im afraid the the tape will loosen over time because of hot and cold weather. Also, how accurate is this systems function compare to the dealer types of blind spot detection? Are there false readings as to recognition of non-vehicle objects on the roads, and not detecting vehicles with the same speed in the blind spot? Ive read reviews of other brands that have those problems. I have a 2020 Honda Odyssey, and its Blind spot detection is very accurate. Thank you for your time.

You can definitely shoot some self-tapping screws through the tabs of the CUB Blind Spot Monitoring System # CU94TR to ensure a tight bond along with the 3M tape. As for false readings, we haven't had any reports back stating any issues.
We've actually just installed a few of the larger version ( # CU95XR) of these on some enclosed race car trailers and a new Silverado 2500 that I personally test drove afterwards and found the system to be really accurate. This truck used a larger monitor in the cab to display the warnings than the little lights that are in the # CU94TR, but I personally prefer the smaller lights as the large monitor is too distracting while driving.
