Shock Kit to Smooth Out Ride of Trailer with Tandem 8k Trailer Axles
Question:
I would like to replace or upgrade my RV leaf springs suspension system in order to get a smoother ride and more importantly, a more reliable system. I realize there are many many options to either help or completely replace the suspension in order to accomplish this objective. Short of expensive and long lead times to go with a IS system, I would like to consider the Timbren systems. My current axles are Lippert 8K with a coach GVWR of 18K lbs. Does Timbren offer a Silent Ride system that would fit my unit and accomplish my objectives? Thanks

The best option to smooth out the suspension of your RV that has tandem axle 8k Lippert springs is the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Kit for 8k axles part # RM-2470 which was designed for your axle diameter and capacity. This would do a better job than a Timbren Silent Ride but worth nothing is that Timbren does not offer a kit for 8k axle replacements.
Dampening the suspension movement will do the most to make the ride quality smoother which is what a shock kit does.
