Does the e98880 etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock Have a Weight Rating
Question:
Does the e98880 locking hitch pin have a class/weight rating? I see the e98881 is class V 15k rated, but the e98880 - more properly sized to a typical 2in hitch - does not state a rating. I don’t want to use it for towing without a proper rating.

Trailer Hitch Pins like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches - Flush - 2-5/8" Span - Chrome # e98880 and # e98881 do not have a specific weight rating due to the fact that they are so much stronger than the rest of the components used for towing.
A hitch pin like the # e98880 and # e98881 will still be holding long after the tow bar, ball mount, or trailer hitch receiver has failed. What you are seeing on the # e98881 is actually a reference to the length since it works with 2-1/2"-3" hitches, not a weight capacity. The Class V listing is to let you know that it will work with a Class V hitch without any issues.
