What Tracks and Crossbars do You Recommend for an Awning on My Leer XR Camper Shell?

We definitely have some great options. However, if you are looking to minimize components on your Leer XR cap on your 2017 Toyota Tundra, we unfortunately do not carry any awning systems that mount directly to tracks. With that being said, we do have awnings that attach directly to crossbars themselves.

For the crossbars and tracks, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells - 59" Long # Y02-490B. This system comes with 63 inch tracks that mount to your Leer XR with included hardware. The great thing about the Rhino-Rack Vortex Crossbars is that it comes with an extremely aerodynamic design that ultimately leads to a quieter ride and increased fuel capacity. As far as the easy of mounting the crossbars, the kit comes with Quick Mount legs for a fast setup and removal into and out of the tracks. For a customized fit, you can cut the tracks if you want a decreased length. This particular system comes with a 220 pound weight capacity. As with all camper shell applications, I recommend confirming with your Leer owner's manual to make sure the shell can handle the weight you wish to transport.

As far as the awning, the best bet is the Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awning - Roof Rack Mount - Bolt On - 8' 2" Long x 6' 11" Wide # RR32133 or the Rhino-Rack Batwing Awning - Roof Rack Mount - Bolt On - Passenger's Side # RR33200. Both of these awning simply install into the top channels of the Vortex Aero crossbars. You will not need to purchase any adapters for either of these awning options with the # Y02-490B. As far as the installation/removal process, you simply insert or remove the Rhino-Rack channel bracket from the crossbars.
