2013 Toyota Avalon Fitment with Yakima Fullback 3 Trunk Mount Bike Rack

Question:

The Yakima website indicates this rack, Fullback 3 does not fit a 2013 Toyota Avalon but the Fullback 2 does. Not sure the difference in the 2 and 3 other than capacity. On your website it indicates the Fullback 3 is Confirmed to Fit 2013 Toyota Avalon. That contradicts the Yakima website. I am a bit hesitant to order this due to the conflicting fit information. Can you help me to decide if the Fullback 3 will indeed fit my 2013 Avalon? Thank you.

We have a little more freedom in the information that we share so for your 2013 Toyota Avalon the Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack # Y02633 will physically fit, yes. But if you look at the installation notes in the fitguide system it says "Maximum load is 2 bikes due to vehicle construction". So the 3-bike version fits but you should only be carrying 2 bikes in those front 2 cradles regardless.

If it makes you feel better just pick up the 2-bike version, part # Y02634, instead. This has the exact same fitment as the 3-bike version, it just doesn't have that 3rd bike position on the cradles.

You will need to place the base pad 3-3/4" above the bumper and use a hub setting of 1. Please note to use an adapter bar # Y02531 for any kid's bikes or bikes that don't have a horizontal top tube like what we see with a typical men's bike.
