Replacement Breakaway Switch A UPG Model 42914 Breakaway Kit
Question:
Im trying to find a replacement pin and lanyard for a UPG model 42914 trailer breakaway kit. I didnt see UPG products listed, but was wondering if one of the other brands would fit my existing switch. Or would I need to purchase another complete switch, pin and lanyard? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Breakaway pins are not universal, so you wouldn't be able to replace your pin with another brand. However, breakaway switches are universal, so you can mix and match them to work with your UPG Model 42914 breakaway kit.
With that being said, your best bet is to use the Hopkins Replacement Break-Away Switch, 44" Lead Wires # HM20014 and replace the entire switch.
