Troubleshooting Leaf Spring that Contacts Frame After Install of Dexter EZ Flex
Question:
This is a correction to a question I submitted around 30 minutes ago. I recently purchased the Dexter EZ Flex kit for 6000 lb axles and had it installed by a shop on my 2018 Winnebago Minnie 2401RG travel trailer. Before I bought the kit I verified that the new equalizer was nearly identical to the original equalizer within 0.03inch to 0.05. I also verified that the new shackles had the same hole to hole dimensions as the original shackles. Ive only towed it about 20 miles since then and it seemed to be a smoother towing experience. But today I noticed something that concerns me after towing the trailer to to my house. When backing up the trailer the equalizers tend to get tilted. What concerns me is that a spring eye at the top of the shackle is making contact with the bottom of the frame due to the extreme tilt of the equalizer. See the picture with the arrow. How bad is this?

Your picture didn't make it through but I am familiar with this type of problem. Typically this is due the trailer not sitting level. But if the trailer is sitting level and the issue persists that indicates that you have either an equalizer that's too long, leaf springs that are too long, or the hanger locations are too close together. If you are sure the equalizer dimensions are exact same did any other components change during the install of the EZ Flex?
