Recommended Parts to Flat Tow 2008 Hyundai Accent

Question:

Have a 2008 Hyundai Accent manual trans vehicle that I want to flat tow behind a 12,000 lb class C MH with a 2inch square hitch. Need a quote and list of all the various parts/optional parts that I will need to complete the setup. This will be for a 2-3 times per year use, not for constant year round travel, so cost is a factor. Thanks.

To flat tow your 2008 Hyundai Accent behind your Class C motorhome, you will need 5 basic items, a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution that ties your motorhomes indicator lights to the Hyundai and a supplemental braking system.

- Base Plate, Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX2323
This will only work with vehicles that do not have foglights. Let me know if you do.

- Tow Bar, Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar, # BX7380
This comes with needed safety cables, so no extra purchase.

- Wiring Solution, Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, # RM-15267

- Supplemental Braking, Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR

Finally, you will likely also need a high-low adapter in order to keep the tow bar level. I have attached an article that explains exactly how to choose the best one for your setup, along with a link that will take you to our available selection. I have also included a great FAQ on flat towing that you might find helpful and we always recommend taking a look at your vehicle specific owners manual for any restrictions or guidelines for flat towing. This will be listed under Recreational Towing.
