Where to Connect Red Wire From Superwinch LT4000 Winch for Trailer Installation
Question:
I bought a Super Winch LT4000 from you. I am going to wire it on a trailer. The red wires coming from the control switches are supposed to go to the key circuit on an ATV. Sence Im not wiring it to an ATV what am I supposed to do with them?

Expert Reply:
The red wire from the Superwinch LT4000 ATV Winch # SW1140220 that goes to the ATV main switch is basically just an on/off switch so the winch will only pull power when the ATV is on. Since you're installing this on a trailer you'll just need to connect that to a rocker switch like part # 37213405 and then flip the switch prior to using the winch (also be sure to flip the switch off when you're done!).
