Class I Hitch Receiver Bike Rack Recommendation for e-Bikes
Question:
I have 1 1/4 hitches on both of my subarus, and my wife is considering acquiring an E-bike. Are there any 1 1/4 bike racks that would accomodate E-bikes safely? Please provide some examples for me to review, if they exist. Both of my hitches are made by Curt. One is on a 2020 Forester, the other on a 2019 Impreza Sport 5-door wagon/hatchback. I would like to be able to use the rack on either car. Thanks for your help!

Thank you for all of the details! We actually do have a selection of bike racks that fit a 1-1/4" receiver and are rated high enough for e-Bikes.
The best solution is the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 because it is compatible with a Class I receiver, only weighs 45 lbs, comes with a ramp, and uses a clamping system as opposed to hooks which is perfect for a lot of e-Bikes as they tend to have fenders and step-thru frames.
If the e-Bike you guys end of getting doesn't have a front fender then a more cost-effective solution is the Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH9045. This rack uses hooks that secure the bikes at the front wheel which is great for installation but this doesn't have the a ramp, is a little heavier at 50 lbs, and can only hold up to 50 lb bikes as opposed to 65 lb bikes like the EasyFold XT.
