How to Find the Brake Switch Circuit in a Landcruiser Ute to Install a Brake Controller
Question:
Hi I have taken the Tekonsha voyager unit out of my fj40 landcrusier and am attempting to set it up in my hzj75r landcruiser ute. I have run the positive and negative leads as they were in the 40 series to the battery as well as running the lead back to the blue cable in the 7 way trailer connector. it was a black cable on the 40 series but I only had a blue cable available on my 75 series connector I still have the red cable from the unit and need a photograph if possible or instructions on which cable is the break light in the 75 series that I need to jack into. please email me if you are able to help Cheers -

The best instructions I can give you to help find the brake output signal on your HZJ75R Landcruiser Ute would be to use a circuit tester like our part # PTW2993 to test the wires going to the brake switch for a circuit that only has voltage when the brakes are applied and none when the brakes are not applied.
I attached a link to an FAQ article on installing a brake controller from scratch for you to check out also.
